More Than Coffee While Travelers Wait at Redesigned Terminal

Travelers will have the opportunity to treat themselves to more than just magazines, snacks, and coffee while waiting for flights at John F. Kennedy International Airport. An expansion project at the New York City airport’s Terminal 4 will include upscale specialty shops, brought in by travel retailer Hudson Group. The program includes luxury handbag, clothing, and sunglasses stores, and seven new Hudson travel essentials stores. A souvenir shop is also planned. The stores will open in three phases between May and October 2013.

East Rutherford, N.J.-based Hudson Group, which has partnered with JME Group LLC to complete the project, said that in addition to its name brand and travel item offerings, it’s pleased to offer regional merchandise from the New York area and an area where flyers can shop at their leisure. The new program expands the total number of stores Hudson operates in Terminal 4 from 10 to 14, which are part of its 700 travel-related shops in 70 airports and transportation terminals in the United States and Canada.
