IT Firm Signs Amsterdam Lease for Its Flagship European Facility

Digital Realty Trust, Inc., the world’s largest wholesale datacenter provider, has signed a lease with Terremark Worldwide, Inc. to house the managed IT infrastructure services provider’s flagship European facility, Network Access Point (NAP) of Amsterdam. NAP’s new space will be in a build-to-suit project to be developed by Digital Realty Trust and scheduled to be completed in early 2011.

Terremark will use its NAP facility to provide customers with connectivity from the Amsterdam Internet Exchange, one of the world’s largest Internet exchanges. Digital Realty Trust, which owns, acquires, redevelops, develops, and manages technology-related real estate, says that it is pleased to expand its relationship with Terremark and increase its European presence. The company plans to sell the site where the new facility will be constructed to Terremark in the future.
